Dr. Zadoff immigrated to Israel
from Argentina in 1969 and has lived in Jerusalem ever since. In his public life, he played a significant role in encouraging
the State of Israel to display greater empathy towards the families of those who were murdered or disappeared in Argentina
during the period of military dictatorship (1976-1984). There developed a general recognition that Israel had an obligation
to console the relatives of victims and stand by them in their demands of the Argentine authorities and in their need to commemorate
their loved ones. As a result of this development, close emotional ties were formed between the bereaved relatives and the
State of Israel that continues even today.
Dr. Zadoff has helped establish a network of institutions for Jewish
adult education and leadership development in almost all communities throughout Latin America. He directed this network as
part of his duties with the World Zionist Organization.
Dr. Zadoff established a publishing house that publishes
books on aspects of the Jewish people heritage in Spanish (E.D.Z. Nativ Ediciones), an encyclopedia on the history and culture
of the Jewish People, and another encyclopedia devoted to the Holocaust, in cooperation with Yad Vashem.
In 2007,
Dr. Zadoff was ordained as "Leader - Madrikh - Vegvayzer" by the International Institute for Secular Humanistic
Judaism.
